Key Largo - We're Back!

Tonight we are back in Key Largo....anchored outside Sundowner's restaurant.

It was nice taking a route that we have already been on.... just had to watch for crab pots.

We can't get over how clear the water is.  We were in 8 feet water and we could easily see the bottom with no problems.  We saw a manatee in the mangroves as well.... no photo opportunity though.

We out ran our first rain storm.  Just a light shower!

We also saw our first lawn enforcement boat. At least he was waving at us and not pulling us over.

We also saw our first tow boat... felt bad for them... better them then us!

We had some problems with our anchor alarm app today.  It worked great yesterday.  It just kept saying low volume and wouldn't play the alarm when we were too far from anchor.... not good!  After lots of frustration it turned out we just needed to uninstall and reinstall app.  Its working fine now.

We took the dinghy to shore to check out this area of Key Largo.  When were here last week we were about 5 miles south of where we are now.  We went to the Caribbean Club for a drink, which was the location of the movie Key Largo with Humphrey Bogart.  Of course there was a photo opportunity.

I couldn't pass up trying to get a photo of the pelican below.  He let me get pretty close and they flew away!

Corp trying to decide if we can dock at the Big Chill tomorrow.

We found a cheesy tourist photo opportunity.

We also stopped at Jimmy Johnson's Bill Chill and Cactus Jacks.  We had dinner at Sundowner and stopped in for an appetizer at Senior Frijoles.  Who new grill corn with garlic aioli and Mexican cajito cheese could be so tasty!

We were pretty far from shore today so getting a boat photo was a bit tough!

Sunset to night was beautiful again.  They never get old!

Tomorrow we are docked at John Pennekamp State Park for two day and meeting Corp's mom, aunt Cathy, and cousin Brady.  We are excited to see familiar faces!!!!!  And also excited to be plugged in with air conditioning and hopefully get a couple nights of great sleep.  The boat life is exhausting.... it really is!!!!!!
